Chima Greaves
A wolf who was given a legend and a locker
Born under a great name and into a small body, and he never managed to get the two to agree.
Chima is five generations down from the wolf in the picture book. He is 5’4”, 120 pounds, and on shift he wears a cream sheep-fleece hooded one-piece two sizes too large, with a small brass bell on a cord at his throat. His time card is below: four nights to punch, and one he has not clocked out of yet.

Scene 1 of 5: The Name. Isaac “the Bellows” Greaves.

The Name
Isaac Greaves, his great-great-great-grandfather, went to three houses in one afternoon and blew two of them flat. Nine editions of that afternoon share one library shelf, ninety years of them, and in every illustration he is enormous. He arrives at the door already hungry, and the story requires nothing else of him.
“He was not accused of anything. He was simply expected, and there is no way to prove an expectation wrong…”
He is still working nights. So are we.
